Life Imitates Art for Cat II: "Running over the same old ground"

Cataraqui II 0 vs Kelsey's 1

Well, another close game ended with the boys in black on the wrong side of the score sheet.

Frustration abounded in this one, which had draw written all over it.  Cataraqui II had the bulk of the possession in the first half.  There were numerous efforts up front, but few were close enough to the target to worry the Kelsey’s ‘keeper.  The team spirit was great and maximum effort was being expended.  We just can’t seem to buy a goal.  The entire forward line and the midfield can be credited with shots, but nothing to show for it.  The second half was more balanced, but still there were chances.

Coach Kennedy looked relaxed after his vacation, but stressed up nicely as the game went on.

We were short on subs (1), which meant little rest for the midfield and defence.  The goal, when it came, was a breakaway and really was nothing to grumble about.  Two passes and a shot were all it took to send this one to the books.

Talking of books, we avoided the downtown melee of the buskers by visiting a different alehouse.  Nice to find it was karaoke night with song books all over the tables.  James McIntyre did a nice rendition of “Wish You Were Here” at the table.  Alison Boyle looked set to go, but I had the sense to leave ahead of the start from our group.  I had been in chanting form and likely would have been up howling at the microphone.

Special congratulations to Jenn & Rob on the arrival of Abigail Rosemary.
