Turkish police have arrested around 30 people, including the president of top side Fenerbahce as part of an ongoing investigation into match-fixing in football, according to the Anatolia news agency. Aziz Yildirim was taken into custody on Sunday along with the club's vice-president Sekip Mosturoglu, the vice-president of Trabzonspor, Nevzat Sakar, and the technical director of Eskisehirspor, Umit Karan, the agency said.

UEFA president Michel Platini believes the implentation of goal-line technology is unnecessary following the introduction of additional refereeing assistants. There had been pressure from many parties those within the game to introduce video technology, but UEFA and world governing body FIFA have always resisted the calls.

Manchester United have signed David De Gea from Atletico Madrid for a fee believed to be in the region of ��18 million.
